You fly to Khiva and work east: the ancient fortresses of Toprak-Kala and Ayaz-Kala, the crossing of the Kyzylkum, three days around Bukhara, a night in a yurt camp at Yangi Gazgan, the village of Mitan — winner of the 'To Do' responsible tourism award at ITB Berlin — and finally Samarkand.
